Bryan & I went to Seven Springs on Friday. It was great! Sunny and freezing, but ultimately good and really worthwhile for both my skiing technique and self-esteem. I managed to ski down the black diamonds! (At Seven Springs, the blacks are about as tough as the blues at Okemo or Killington, which means they’re not very tough. But I did them!) And I fell twice spectacularly. Not as spectacularly as last Friday (the 2nd) when we went; I did a few tumbles then that landed me with some spectacular bruises. I fall rather efficiently, though. Not too much flying down the slope, it’s more of a falling over by accident. I started the day on the greens and blues, and it was Bryan who suggested we try new slopes and brought me, by mid-afternoon, to the black. I skied in his tracks, which was helpful. The less time I spend looking downhill, the better. I also got new ski gloves. I’m so revved up for Utah in March! I can’t wait to take lessons and really work on my technique.
But now I have about 5 bruises on my legs… I can explain 3 of them fairly easily. Bah. Well, it was still a good time.
Now back to work and the real world…
