Only one more day of classes…

I am exhausted.

Today was my CAS Presentation of my thesis, “Girls Who Save the World: The Female Hero in Young Adult Fantasy.” It was both a presentation and a competition. There were six student presenters from across pretty much every arts/humanities discipline combination there is. The presentations were really, really good. I didn’t win one of the two awards (there really was no contest—I was one of the too-academic presentations, the one where you really had to read the paper to “get” the project). I don’t mind—I had a great presentation in front of a TON of faculty (more faculty than students!) and I had a good time. I was shaking through the entire presentation, but whatever… Peggy loved it! I am so much more prepared for next week’s thesis presentation now. Just… relaxed, essentially.

Tomorrow is the last day of classes of my undergraduate college career. It’s surreal. I will never take another undergraduate course at Carnegie Mellon again. I might not ever take another course at Carnegie Mellon again! This is so… surreal. I am graduating from college in 18 days or so. I sort of desperately want to finish all of the tremendous amounts of work I have to do as soon as possible so I can just work on, well, what’s fun—Europe, my novels, and fun reading. I have quite the list of fun reading to do! Peggy gave me a long list. It’ll be a reading-sy summer.

In the meanwhile, I have to prepare for tomorrow and take my allergy medication and all sorts of crazy things. Graduation… graduation… Oh dear. I am partially terrified — partially. Mostly excited.

But partially terrified.
