Bionic Woman…

Thursday September 27, 2007

…seems surprisingly weak. For all the hype and press it’s been getting, I’m sort of surprised that they expect us to take to this plot so quickly. WTF, regenerating microrobot things that “grew” back her body parts? Um. Explain that a little, please. Don’t they know a little about the sci fi genre? We can’t just accept stuff like that without a little help. The series premiere of Chuck was more convincing, and that was somewhat weak, too.

Also, the actress who plays the title character was born in 1984. Holy crap. She’s like 18 months older than me. Holy crap. This isn’t the Disney channel — I feel appropriately old now.

On another television related note: I can’t wait for next week’s Heroes. Now that’s a series that just flies. I think it’s the multiple subplot thing — when we’re invested in like 12 characters all at once, and their plots connect, it’s a lot easier to get addicted. I’m all ready lukewarm about watching next week’s Bionic Woman. (I completely agree thus far with the review at EW.)

Note: there’s a sex scene in the pilot of Bionic Woman. Dude.

I am holding out hope for Friday’s Moonlight series premiere on CBS. Vampires back on prime time television. Niiiiice.
